There are a couple of opera or ballet performances every night in Prague. The best known performances are held by Prague State Opera and by the Prague National Theatre Opera at three beautiful opera houses. This traditional Classical Music Festival is the best known annual cultural event. It begins every year on May 12, the anniversary of Smetana's death, and it runs till June 3. If you are classical music fan you really should not miss it!

Movie Theaters
There are about 30 movie theaters in Prague. They usually present American movies in English with Czech subtitles. You will get the ticket for 100-200 Kc there. Our favorite movie theaters are:
There are two special movie theaters. Ponrepo-Bio Konvikt at Bartolomejska 11 presents non commercial and old movies from the whole world. Also you can see there old Czech movies with English subtitles. Another special cinema Aero located at Biskupcova 31 presents the profiles of the famous directors and the festival movies. So if you are the film expert, these places are for you :-)
Of course there are multi screen movie theaters in Prague. They are very modern with comfortable chairs, big screens and excellent sound. Four of them are located in the city center, two of them in the suburbs next to the hyper markets. The ticket price is usually from 140 to 160 Kc there.
You can buy the ticket from the ticket counter right in a theater or a concert hall. Sometimes they are sold out so we recommend you to buy the tickets in advance online. Or you can visit some of ticket agencies which are located in the city center.
